THE BEST DIP IN THE WORLD

THE BEST DIP IN THE WORLD

THE BEST DIP IN THE WORLD
INGREDIENTS

8 ounces cream cheese, softened

2 cups sour cream (I used light)

1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled

1/2 cup sliced green onion

One important thing to note is that this recipe is only good for a couple of servings – about 2 to 4 servings – depending on the appetites of those that will be eating it, of course.

Weight watchers will be pleased to know that the more the number of people that eat from this single recipe, the less the amounts of calories consumed by one single person. That is, for a 2-4 person serving, about 339 cal gets divided up between 2-4 people.

Now, you can make it for more than a couple of people but you’ll have to tweak the recipe first. Tweaking recipes is easy to do. All you have to do is increase the quantities of each ingredient proportionately if you’re looking to feed more mouths and vice versa. However, we understand that these things can get tricky in the kitchen, so we welcome any questions you may have. Feel free to ask your questions or share any concerns you may have in the comment section and we’ll be sure to get back to you.

INSTRUCTIONS

The first thing we like to recommend, when it comes to directions, is a clean and clear cooking area, free of clutter. Not only will it boost the hygiene of the whole set up, but it’ll free things up, open your mind, prevent you from knocking things over and causing accidents. Yeah, we’d like to avoid that kind of thing.

So, go right ahead and clean up that cooking area. When your counter is all clean and tidy, carefully lay out each and every ingredient inside clean bowls – individual bowls. Do NOT start mixing up the ingredients until we tell you to, as that could be kinda disastrous.

As soon as you’re ready, breathe and let’s begin!

– The first thing you have to do is to preheat your oven to 400ยบ F. (We’re doing this because we want to create a well heat regulated space within the oven before hand, so that all parts of the dish gets done at the same time.)

– Combine softened cream cheese, sour cream, cheddar cheese, bacon and green onion. (Yep! Now is the time to mix things up. You can do this by mixing with a spoon inside one of those clean bowls that’s dishwasher- bound.

If you feel up for it, I suppose you can use a whisk or an automatic mixer. Though, I’ve never tried the automatic mixer route before. It’s something to think about. You might want to set the mixer at low speed, though. You want to create a smooth paste with shreds of bacon and dices of green onion, not a fine one with minced bits of bacon and green onions!)

– Spoon mixture into a 1-quart baking dish and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until cheese is bubbling and hot.

(Now, you have a few options to prevent an epic case of sticky pans. You can grease up the pan before hand, which is what we recommend, or you could use aluminum foil to layer the baking pan before heaping the mixture into it.

Again, I’ve never tried that before, but some people use aluminum foil for EVERYTHING and they’ll swear by it.

So, if you’re feeling adventurous, do try the aluminum foil method and let us know how it turns out for you, by leaving your reviews in the comment section.)

– Serve with bread slices, crackers, or veggies.

(Some people will even serve it with fries. I’ve said it before, that this is the best dip in the world – its name is the Best Dip in the World – and it goes with everything. I’m sticking to that, even in the face of dips and fries, which quite frankly sounds like another task for an adventurous soul.)

– Dig in and enjoy!
